Chicago Bears: NFL Draft

Well the Chicago Bears have finished the first round drafting a very unique and versatile player. The Bears focused on the side of the ball they are best known for which is defense.

Shea McClellin was the Bears first pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. McClellin comes out of Boise State were he was feared on the Defensive line and even at the linebacker position as well.

“It is a great honor to be drafted by an organization with such rich history of football. So many amazing players have come of the Bears organization and I hope to become one of them,” said McClellin. McClellin continues, “My family is excited to watch me play for the Bears and I am excited to start off my career for this fine organization.”

McClellin is a great addition to the Bears Defense, he will compliment Julius Pepper on the field, with Peppers focusing on the right defensive end spot and McClellin on the other. McClellin might even be used in a new  3-4 scheme that the Bears might develop just for the rookie, having both McClellin and Peppers on the same side rushing at the quarterback.

“Shea is going to do wonders for us, he provides versatility, athleticism, and size. He is going to fit our defense very well,” said Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith.

The Bears still have rounds 2-7 to go for this weekend coming up. Rumors are saying they might be drafting either a Tight End, Offensive Linemen, or even another Defensive Linemen in the second round.
