The Soles of USF

I decided to end the semester with a photo project, The Soles of USF. Many people thought my project was titled, The Souls of USF. I knew people would assume I was speaking from a spiritual perspective. But, in a sense, the soles relate to the many student’s souls and shoes that I captured.

It was interesting to capture the soles of shoes because I believe that shoes tell a story. Each person is different. Some students wear dress shoes often, others wear flip-flops, gymshoes and loafers. I feel that the shoe expresses each student’s individuality. Furthermore, I examined if the soles were worn. While some people may think worn soles mean it’s time to buy new shoes, I connected it to how hard college students work and the road we are on in our lives to get to where we want to be in life.
Enjoy the show!
